Start the CookingIf you want to know how to cook shrimp, once you have all of your shrimp shelled and deveined, it's time to fill a pan with about two quarts of water per pound of shrimp you plan on cooking. Turn the stove on high and bring that water to a rolling boil. Once it comes to a boil, add a bit of salt and perhaps some lemon juice if you wish. Then, shut the heat off and put the entire pound of shrimp into the hot water. The shrimp should stay in the water from about 3-5 minutes or longer if they are not quite done yet.
